Our research objective is to recognize and characterize key conditions that make a planet habitable. We will explore the formation and evolution of star-planet systems with the Solar System and the Earth-Moon couple as reference and focus. Our research activities will comprise three interrelated research themes: (1) Planets and Early Earth, (2) Modern Earth, and (3) Exo-Earths.

Research Funding
The research effort of the Centre for Planetary Habitability (PHAB) is funded through the Centre of Excellence scheme (CoE) of the Research Council of Norway (RCN). Furthermore, members of PHAB conduct topical research projects funded through several individual grants from RCN or other European funding agencies ( e.g., European Research Council, European Space Agency).
