We organised a PriTEM annual workshop where the project participants presented their recent work, and we invited talks by external speakers in the academia/industry, along with a poster session where researchers exchange ideas on their recent works related to different aspects of transactive energy. Of special mention are the discussion sessions where summarized our recent updates and categorised our efforts and progress to check to what direction and how far we have advanced, and to what extent we can broaden our cross-disciplinary efforts toward a holistic approach for future energy systems that is more decentralized, consumer-centered, and digitalised. Information about the workshop program and participants can be found here.

Poushali Sengupta from IFI, UiO provided a presentation titled "Balancing Explainability-Accuracy of Complex Models" followed by discussions with seminar attendees. The speaker presented a new approach to balance model explainability and accuracy in complex AI systems, especially for the cases where there is limited data while high-dimensional data feature space. Shiliang Zhang from IFI, UiO provided a presentation titled "Regulatory Privacy in the Energy Sector: Status and Provisions in EU" followed by discussions with seminar attendees. The speaker presented how data protection is regulated in the energy sector in the EU, and provided analysis from both general and field-specific laws to articulate regulatory data protection . Hui Zhang from IFI, UiO provided a presentation titled "Privacy-preserving Transactive Energy Management" followed by discussions with seminar attendees. The speaker introduced her academic and industry experience in privacy and security and the main tools used in e.g., financial and ICT sectors. More details can be found here.

Meysam Aboutalebi from ITS, UiO provided a presentation titled "Rethinking Peer-to-Peer Energy Trading: A Pathway to Social Efficiency" followed by discussions with seminar attendees. We exchange ideas and viewpoints about peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading frameworks and the aspects in social acceptance towards P2P energy trading. Daniel Gerbi from IFI, UiO provided a presentation titled "Exploring Privacy Requirements in Transactive Energy Systems: A Preliminary Research Insight" followed by discussions with seminar attendees. We exchange ideas and viewpoints about privacy challenges and barriers at the intersection of block-chain and transactive energy management. Hui Zhang joined PriTEM as a doctoral research fellow in IFI, UiO. She has two Master´s Degrees, one in Communication Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, another in Power Electronics and Power Drives from Wuhan University of Technology. Her main research interests are privacy preservation, information security, cryptography and distributed data sharing in transactive energy management systems. Welcome!

Mehdi Foroughi from IFI, UiO provided a presentation titled "Safeguarding Energy Optimization of Prosumers via Secure and Privacy-Preserving Data Exchange" followed by discussions with seminar participants. We exchange ideas and viewpoints about the optimization of energy management for the prosumers, where privacy in data exchange is a critical consideration. More details can be found here.

Juliana Zhang from PSY, UiO provided a presentation titled "Intention to participate, preferences and decision-making" followed by discussions with seminar participants. This is an interactive seminar where we exchange ideas and viewpoints about socio-psychological aspects in distributed energy generation and transactive energy trading, which might impact user acceptance and participance. We organised a PriTEM research seminar, and a talk was given titled "Behavioural Artificial Intelligence", along with discussions with the audience. The talk illustrates what might be considered in analysing AI behaviours, and covers relevant concepts and aspects like inference, cognitive bias, uncertainty, and provides examples.

We organised a PriTEM research seminar on the topic of Open Science. A presentation was given titled overview of open research practices, together with Q&A with the audience. We discussed activities that are expected under the Open Science paradigm, and possible ways and venues to conduct open research.

This is a physical PriTEM meeting where PhD and postdoc researchers working on the project present reports on their recent literature review. The review work covers technical, legislative, and societal aspects in the field of transactive energy, and we have discussions following each presentation. More details can be found here.

Juliana Zhang joined as a doctoral research fellow at the Department of Psychology at the University of Oslo in February 2023. She has Master's Degree in Work and Organizational Psychology from the University of Oslo and Bachelor's Degree in Finance and Marketing from the National University of Singapore. Her main research interests are human factors and trust in transactive energy management, digitalization, user acceptance and chatbot. Welcome!

Meysam Aboutalebi from ITS, UiO gave a presentation titled "Energy management and market operation of smart distribution grids considering the prosumers' behavior". We have discussions on both technical and social factors that might have an impact on consumer acceptance of distributed energy trading. More details can be found here.

Meysam Aboutalebi joined PriTEM as a doctoral research fellow in ITS, UiO. He holds his master's and bachelor's degrees in Electrical Engineering - Power Systems from Shahid Beheshti University and the University of Tabriz, respectively. His main research interests are energy management, stochastic optimization, and resilient operation of smart grids based on the marketplace for distributed energy resources. Welcome!

Shiliang Zhang from IFI, UiO provided a presentation titled "Privacy issues in smart grid – concept clarifications and legislation viewpoints" followed by discussions. Daniel Gerbi Duguma joined PriTEM as a doctoral research fellow in IFI, UiO. His main research interest is in designing secure, privacy-enhanced, and distributed data-sharing techniques in transactive energy systems. He completed his master's in Information Security Engineering at Soonchunhyang University, South Korea. Welcome!

Shiliang Zhang joined PriTEM as a postdoctoral fellow in IFI, UiO. He previously worked in Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden on the research of privacy preservation approaches in vehicle networks. Welcome!

It was a great event where all the partners of the project gathered and presented about their work and expertise relevant for the project. Beyond that, we had very interesting and rigorous discussions about the possible synergies, learning (among the partners- which is of particular significance for a highly cross-disciplinary projects like PriTEM), and the path ahead for the project.
